Customer Reviews Good Book with Great Lessons This book is definately different than the Movie...and the voices are not the same either. But aside from that, it's great! McQueen and Mater go tractor tipping.....and run into trouble. That's the good part. The great part is the back. The words you need to put together. Like pothole, firehouse...it really makes my son think. I like that. Plus other games throughout the story are fun too.

Customer Reviews Interesting for a While We got this as the first game for my six-year-old daughter's new Leapster 2. She wanted a DS, like her brothers have, but I thought she was too young for that. She likes the game, and I saw that she played it a lot when it was new, but I haven't noticed her playing it that often lately. She prefers the drawing game that comes with the Leapster over this game. However, my three-year-old could play it for hours, even though it is above her level of understanding. From what I have seen, you are given a picture, and you are told to find certain items in the picture. You use the pen to pan around and select objects. There is also a game where you match items that rhyme or match items with their initial letter. Good learning activities, but there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of variety, though, and maybe that's because my kids play the same level over and over. There are three levels to choose from. I got this item for a very good price, so it was worth it to me. I have not tried any other games, though, so I can't give a comparative review.

Customer Reviews Solo Readers Emerge First, on the Tag Reading system in general. My 3 and 5-yr-old boys love this system. And though I was disappointed at first that the books do not force them to highlight each word before the word is read to them, I have a different view now. The default process is that my son launches a page, and the automated reader reads the whole page to them. Here's why I now like this: My boys are thrilled to sit with these books and listen to stories. So while they are not learning to read by doing so, and not even getting the one-to-one word/sound association I'd hoped for, they are viewing reading on par excitement-wise with their other play activities.
My five-yr old actually read fairly proficiently by the time he had his first Tag reader, but he still loves to have a few of these books read to him by the "magic pen." My 6-yr old isn't as enthused, perhaps because he already reads so much on his own. T-Rex and Diego's Underwater Rescue are favorites of my 3-yr old. Lots of good sound effects. My 5-yr old loves Up! and (sigh) Walter the Farting Dog. That one came free with a purchase of a few others, for better or worse. With four boys, you can imagine the glee this book evokes.
